Nacre Dance Group invites choreographers (18+) to submit proposals for Nuts and Crackers, a new winter work presented at the Universal Preservation Hall in Saratoga Springs, NY, November 2026.
This project reimagines Act II of The Nutcracker. Each selected choreographer will be assigned a number from the traditional second act and invited to create an original variation inspired by that material—offering a fresh choreographic interpretation of a familiar classic.
We are open to all styles of dance, with the exception of tap due to flooring restrictions.
Selected works will be presented as part of the November 2026 performance at Universal Preservation Hall.
Applications are due June 15, 2026. Selected applicants will be invited for a video interview. One choreographer will be commissioned to create a new work for a future Nacre Dance Group season.
